Title: Brave Man of the Sea
Topic: Panic
Word Count: 167
Pairing: None really
Rating: PG
Warning: Sadness…
He is supposed to be panicking now. Luffy is. Same with Chopper, Nami, Sanji... He is sure the others were scared for him too, but there has to be some reason left among the crew. He is getting colder and maybe it would worry him, if Luffy’s arms weren’t so snug around him and Chopper’s fur wasn’t as soft as he prods. He really should be feeling fear as his hearing fades, but Nami’s warm tears plop on his face and Sanji tightens his grip on his hand. The world is getting black, but he doesn’t care because Robin’s extra hands are loosening his clothes, Zoro is drilling another hole in him with his worried gaze, and Franky’s sobs are shaking the ship. Yeah, he really should be panicking as he draws his last breath, but surrounded by the love of his crew he can only seem to die as a brave man of the sea. He knows now, that with Luffy, dreams really do come true.

,,,HE'S SURROUNDED BY LOVE! AND A BRAVE MAN OF THE SEA! AND DREAMS COME TRUE! OH GOD, IT'S LIKE... JUST... it's a culmination of so many things and the best possible way to die. Thank you for not dragging this out though. Given 300 words and more time to linger on the crew's reactions it'd be even more heartbreaking. I hate thinking of the aftermath, and the rest of them, but for Usopp... I can almost feel happy for him. ...I'm sorry if that sounds horrible. ^^;;

No, I think you're right. As a pirate, I think dying as a result of battle (I'm assuming), surrounded by his nakama, would be the best way for Usopp to die. ^_^
