Back story, this is part of a series and doesn't follow current canon at all.
Here are the beginning bits:
Cursed
Burn
After Effects
It was during the night that it was hardest.
Nami with her pestering, Robin coolly studying him, Chopper and Usopp asking him for stories 'from before.'
Before he'd met Luffy, who had truly set him on the course to obtain his dream.
Before he'd met the silly Love-Cook, who had become friend and Lover and annoyance to no end.
However, Sandai Kitetsu had changed that. His luck, his love, his fate. All had to be left behind, forgotten.
As he meditated, he often reflected on the training he'd done with Sanji. Even with the demons clamoring for him, seeking blood and battles and glory... The blond fluff was his guiding light away from the darkness.
Eyes surely the same shade as his beloved All Blue.
There were some things one couldn't forget.
He sighed, turning away the pool of red that was beginning to gather at his feet, ignoring the internal bickering already taking place between his weapons. A short walk to the hovel he called home, where he sank into the darkness, welcoming what would hopefully be a dreamless sleep.
