Attempt number one to break writer's block.
Inspired by a certain colorspread.
Title: Kibitzing
Word Count: 206.
Rating: G.
Pairing: Slight Usopp/Sanji, but none really. FAIL.
Topic: Sanji Wins!
Usopp was cornered, trapped. Everywhere he turned, there were enemies awaiting him, death in their eyes and hunger on their breath. There was nowhere to run to, no paths that weren’t guarded by soldiers placed by a cunning, cruel, twisted, and all-too-familiar mind. He’d gambled, he’d lost, and he’d just reached into his bag of tricks and come up with pocket lint.
In short, he was fucked.
Not entirely, though. He could try cheating.
Usopp took a deep breath, preparing to shout some fantastic lie along the lines of “LOOK! A NAKED GIRL WITH NO CLOTHES ON! AND SHE’S NUDE! AND SHE HAS A SWORD!” when a golden angel appeared and spoke words of great wisdom and smokiness into his ear.
“You want to move your queen to there.” A finger like a shaft of blinding light pointed out an until-now hidden path for his reinforcements to trouble and vex the enemy, to find his secret heart and slay him in three decisive moves. Usopp declared his undying love to the angel, and gleefully sent his men to slay the enemy in his lair.
And then all the pieces went flying as Zoro threw the chessboard at Sanji’s head. Usopp counted it as a win anyway.
