Title: She Looks Lovely
Topic: (tying the) knot
Word Count: 100
Rating: PG
Pairing: Zoro/Nami, actually, but it's mostly about the Sanji -> Zoro
Disclaimer: Characters and setting? Not mine. Probably just as well, all things considered.
Summary: Every wedding needs witnesses. Not all of them are free of regrets. Seems Sanji's a bit distracted...
Excuse: Actually, I got asked for a Zo/Na somewhere else, with a wedding in it. If I could figure out how to cram a shipwreck into a bottle, I'd be all set...
Notes: Y'know, it's far too easy, given all appearances, to peg Sanji as the straight man, and Zoro as the one who isn't interested in girls. But, you know, I don't think our resident swordsman is completely oblivious (she says, having just recently watched him play the shiny knight again, in Skypiea this time)... So.

"She looks lovely, doesn't she?"
"Aa..."
"Are those nerves?"
"Him? Are you crazy?"
"No, Cook-san. You."
"Ah... Ah! Robin-chwan, forgive me, please! I didn't mean..."
"You aren't still upset that she isn't marrying you?"
"Huh? Oh, no. As long as she's happy, my Nami-swan can marry anyone she wants."
"Then what is the matter, Cook-san?"
"Ah, Robin-chwan, they say it's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved?"
"So they do."
"But it's better still, not to have lost, nah?"
"But Cook-san, I don't believe you ever had her to begin with."
"Not her, Robin-chwan. Not her."

On an unrelated, yet entirely related, note, that bit in Skypeia, where Zoro catches Robin? I swear my ovaries actually giggled with happiness. ♥

And that's exactly the Skypiea bit I was thinking of, fwiw. I was watching that scene, and reading his excuse for catching her, and my first reaction was "Sanji's rubbing off on him?"... *hee*
Thanks!
