This is what happens when inspiration strikes when I am mostly asleep on the bus. Because this is the moment I most want to see right now... (Contains really vague spoilers for the latest manga chapters.)


These are the moments that make a life.

A father's farewell, the sea calling stronger than blood.
A mother's last smile. "Be brave."

That crazy moment, too wonderful to be true, of welcome and belonging.

But it was true, and after that - so many moments! Every one is new and different from the next, flashing by in a whirl of fun and adventure and sometimes terror, too. It is a life of moments.

Then there is one where life stops.

No moment can ever be taken back; no words can be unsaid. Such little things, words, and so casual.

"Bye. It's been fun." Words bearing down with the weight of the world, in that moment.

After so many moments how can one more mean anything at all? How is it possible that this moment now, over all others, is what makes life matter again? How can one moment be so overwhelming, making all the others fade?

It is a moment of arms, warm and strong and stretchy, wrapped around the neck. Of black hair tickling in the face, smelling of sun and salt and straw. Of a body pressed so close that there is nothing else in the world.

There is not even a word, now. There is just this. There is love.

There needs to be some way for you to channel this into Oda's brain. He can't get to it soon enough. (So evil he is, torturing us with the angst and then giving all the plot twists...distracting enough to want more but it's also guilt-inducing because it's not resolving the Usopp situation)

Actually I've been thinking about taking some of the manga scenes and converting them to my semi-realistic digital painting style (although I think there are certain scenes where this will be downright impossible XD), mostly cos they're black and white and I'd get to play around with the colors and atmosphere. ^_^

Uh, dunno if I'll ever get to that soon tho. It's a good idea I think. ^_^;
