Title:Never more a lone wolf
Prompt: Vulnerable
Rating: PG
Word Count: 205
Pairing: Zoro/Luffy
Zoro had always taken great pride in his strength, hunting down pirates like a lone wolf. He never allowed himself a moment of weakness. He had learned his lesson a long time ago; never, under any circumstances, get attached to anybody. Affection only ruined things, and he didn't need it to for-fill his promise. All he needed was to cut down the right people, to kill those who stood in his way to become the world's greatest swordsman.
Yet that young boy crushed his resolution. With a simple smile on his face and the line: “I am gonna be the Pirate King!” he broke all of Zoro's standards. This kid sparkled of naïve trust of just the kind Zoro detested so much. Still, Zoro let him lead him along.
And so, Zoro broke the promise he had made himself all those years ago. He allowed himself to trust this strange boy, allowed himself to relax, smile and let someone into his life. He knew that it was a sign of weakness, and that he would probably have to pay sometime in the future for his choice, but he let that be until said future arrived.
For the moment he allowed himself to be vulnerable.
