Title: Burger Funk
Word Count: 295
Pairing: Luffy/Zoro
Rating: PG
Notes: AU and very cheesy, title comes from the name given to the way people smell after a day working in fast food.

Today Zoro smelled like work. Luffy pounced him as he entered their apartment, dinner bag dangling from one hand. Pickles, onions, cheese, and especially meat smells came from Zoro's skin and clothes. It was one of Luffy's favorite Zoro odors, because it meant he got to have burgers for free. Zoro's part-time job as the grill guy at Burger World tended to make the green-haired man a bit smelly, but it was a scent that Luffy, and his stomach, found particularly attractive.

Zoro had many smells that Luffy noticed. In the summer, after a long day of fencing practice, the swordsman was rank like gym socks. Then he'd shower and smell cool and fresh, thanks to juniper shampoo and minty toothpaste. Throughout much of the year, Zoro smelled of sun-warmed grass from his naps in the park across the street, mingled with a faint hint of car exhaust from riding his motorcycle. In winter Zoro lost the grassy smell and gained a spicy cinnamon one from all the heated cider he drank to keep warm. Some nights Zoro got home late. Then he smelled like cigarettes and cheap booze and hot sauce from the bar he went to with his co-workers.

Luffy wrapped himself around Zoro, not minding the grease and food-stained clothes. He licked a warm, wet line up Zoro's neck, before nibbling at the studs in his ear. A pleased gasp came from the swordsman, and he bore Luffy back to the bedroom, supper dropping forgotten to the floor. A good bit later, Luffy lay draped across Zoro's chest. He nuzzled into the skin, enjoying his favorite Zoro scent of all, the one that smelled a little bit like Zoro, a little bit like himself, and a whole lot like love and satisfaction.

Title: Night Air
Word Count: 300
Pairing: Luffy/Zoro
Rating: PG

It was hot and dark, salty smell rather than cold stone and snow. Chopper woke with a start, wondering where he was. A brief sense of panic, and he remembered he was now a pirate and on a pirate ship. The heat was strange, and he assumed they were close to Vivi's island. She said it had as much sand as Drum had snow, but he hadn't quite been able to wrap his mind around this concept. He decided he needed some air to cool down. The reindeer eased out of his hammock, tiptoeing from the bunkroom. He was temporarily disoriented before he remembered the way to the deck. He crept outside, the lateness of the hour lending itself to quiet.

The breeze was refreshing, ruffling his fur and cooling him pleasantly. The air carried with it the nearly overwhelming smell of the sea, tinged with citrus from Nami's trees. There was an unfamiliar scent as well, a bit like sweat but colored with something heavier. He sniffed delicately, trying to pinpoint the odor. It was coming from the stern. He snuck up the stairs, instinct keeping him silent. And now he could hear the faint snores and whistling breath of someone sleeping. He peered over the last of the stairs.

He noticed the discarded shoes first, eyes scanning towards the railing. A small pile of clothing lay abandoned on the wooden deck. Zoro was sprawled against the rail, one hand propped under his head. Luffy was curled against him, head pillowed on Zoro's naked shoulder. The swordsman's other arm was wrapped around the captain, keeping him flush to his skin. The smell was coming from the pair. Chopper wasn't sure what it was, but they looked peaceful. He turned to go back to bed, cooler now, and oddly happy.
