Nami sat on the end of the tub shaking; hands caught between beating her already reddened knees and pulling out more of her hair. Sanji stomach turned in shame and disgust because he did this. He made a beautiful woman this way. He stood over her, hand hovering just above her shoulder. He couldn’t force himself to touch her, it’s what caused all of this to begin with, so instead he just stood there lightly shushing and whispering nonsense comforts. She silenced him with a scream and began to beat her lower stomach, chanting over and over again ‘Bleed! Damn it! Bleed!’ He repeated the mantra in his head so loud he was dizzy, but outwardly knelt down beside her and told her he would stand by her side, he would take care of her, he would find All Blue, and build her a mansion on the water with gold everything. She was gradually calmed by the truth of his words, and smiled a little, nodded, and wrapped her arms around his neck. It was sealed.
The small hushed promises and tears carried on in the bathroom, only to be interrupted by Zoro’s hand landing firmly on Nami’s shoulder. Zoro smiled softly and so sadly with eyes that looked everywhere but them. He wished them luck and he meant it. He turned slowly towards the exit, and Sanji experienced the excruciating, heart splattering, gut-tearing pain of having your soul forcefully ripped from your body. He thought pain was the worst he could ever feel and it nearly broke him. Then he accidentally caught Zoro’s lingering, glazed, empty, passionless eyes as he left the bathroom, and that did break him.
