Notes: In the nick of time?
It smelled weird. Well, that's just one word that popped into Sanji's mind as he silently spirited Zoro's haramaki away into the laundry room.
He held it gently, the poor thing was so tattered and worn. The unmistakable scent of the swordsman interwoven with it's green and emerald threads. The odour of blood, from countless fights...there was last nights dinner...he sighed. Bloody thing. Didn't the other man wash it? Was it a statement of some form? Was it a declaration of his, what's the word, Manliness?
He placed it on the work table, walked over to the sink, then pulled out a bucket and some washing powder. Careful, he thought as he filled the bucket with hot water, added the powder and then added cold water. He wasn't sure that using scalding hot water was the best thing for it, it may unravel, or just collapse, then he'd be in deep shit.
He was handling what he honestly believed was the Swordsmans 'security blanket'. It was to be handled with great care.
He carried the bucket to the work table and placed it down, picking up the haramaki and passed it from hand to hand. After a full examination he decided to do everything slowly.
It soaked up the water easily, he noted as he laid it into the bath. It also expelled horrendous amounts of dirt as he began to knead it gently, working on particularly nasty looking points. The off green was returning to what appeared to be it's former glory, in Sanji's opinion it looked happier than it had been a few minutes ago.
He lifted it, rang the water out and checked it over for any damage and found none. A little frayed, perhaps, but nothing too bad.
A small mercy, he believed, for a treasured item.
It was clean.
