Title: Maintenance Break
Rating: PG
Word Count: 263
Pairing: Could be read as Luffy/Pell, I guess
Topic: Needing Help!
"Oi, Bird-ossan! Is there any more meat?"
Pell paused from his search and walked back to the food storage room, where the young pirate had, despite his injuries, managed to clean out most the shelves there in a matter of minutes. Only a few lonely vegetables remained. For a moment, Pell could do nothing but stare.
"No," he finally managed, remembering he'd been asked a question, "We were lucky to find as much as we did. These remote bases usually don't have very much food stored."
"Oh," came Luffy's response. Then he grinned, "Well, I already ate a lot so it doesn't matter!"
Pell just watched the boy stretch his muscles and wondered if someone like that would really be able to help their country. Then again, he and his crew had brought the Princess back, hadn't they? They had to be strong.
"How is your wound? I'm sorry, but I couldn't find any more first aid suppli-"
"This is enough," Luffy interrupted, patting his bandaged stomach. "Besides, I got to eat a lot of meat so I'm fine now. Let's go."
Pell nodded and lead the way outside, where he half forced himself to change form, ignoring the painful 'crack' in the general area of his spine as his bones changed shape and rearranged themselves. Well, he thought as Luffy climbed on his back, at least the boy was sturdy. And with an enemy like Crocodile, Alabasta really couldn't afford to decline his offer to help.
With a few beats of powerful wings, they were up in the air and headed for Alubarna.
