“Okay, now that you’re done attacking my tonsils, would you care to explain what you’re doing?”
“Molesting you. I still don’t understand the whole ‘shoes’ concept, can you get them off? The laces—”
“No, no, wait. You’re what?”
“It’s not my fault. Saito found the flowers.”
“What flowers? What are you—hey, I like this shirt.”
“Sorry. Saito found them in the forest. They have some kind of potent pheromone in their pollen. He wanted to give them to Moosu. Not that he knew what they did, but still. I had to tie the poor kid to a tree.”
“I see. And—ah, tree bark, painful, ow…okay that’s better—you didn’t think to tie yourself up at the same time?”
“Didn’t occur to me. How does this zipper work?”
“You have to—why am I telling you. Won’t your wife be upset?”
“Not really. Maybe annoyed at my irresponsibility, but that’s nothing new. Oh, I figured it out.”
“If by ‘figured out’ you mean ‘broke’. So she doesn’t—ah!”
“Nope. I keep saying you have a lot to learn; you always assume things work the same…incidentally, is yours going to want to kill me?”
“You could’ve…could’ve asked me that five minutes ago. Hey, I didn’t say stop. And…no, probably, she’ll just hit me over the head and be done with it, but this really isn’t the best time or place, maybe we should…actually no, just keep…mm…”
“Heh. See, maybe things aren’t so different between us. Except that I’m participating and you’re not, which is beginning to get rather distressing—oh, okay, see, that’s, yes, that’s definitely…a lot better. I wonder how long it’s going to take this to wear off.”
“A while, I hope. But you know…hn…eventually we’re going to have to untie the kid.”
“He can wait.”
“Agreed.”
