He had caught wind of a legendary swordsman that made his home in the small island they were currently docked on. Despite the additional rumors that the swordsman had hung his weapon long ago and chose to play a more domestic role, had not deterred the Santouryuu master’s lust to challenge this legend. So, with a few detours he eventually made his way to the dojo… only to find the ex-swordsman expecting him outside the gates.
Perhaps it was injuries, sickness or simply an exaggeration of rumors, but the man did not look to play the role of a feared slayer of thousands. A true swordsman however knew that appearances did not matter but rather the spirit. The ex-assassin flared out a tightly controlled aura as if to say “I do not wish to fight, but I will protect if I need to.” Zoro, in turn, smirked as if to say “It’s not a fight I want, just the chance to prove myself as a swordsman.” A resigned nod was his only response.
Suddenly, just as they prepared their stances, a heavy wok few in the air and landed on the ex-assassin’s temple, knocking the petite man off-balance.
“Oroooo…”
“KENSHIN! I’m still waiting on that tofu!”
The ex-manslayer turned towards the stunned swordsman and gave an apologetic bow. “Sessha had better finish his chores before this one can properly fight. It doesn’t do well to make her any angrier, de gozaru.” Then, with that, the red-haired man quickly hurried his way down towards the market.
Zoro stared at the dojo, and then sighed as he made his way back to the ship. Challenging a woman that could make the feared Hitokiri Battousai into their own lapdog was definitely someone he would not want to confront, least without additional training.
