Title: The burden of a promise

Breathing in the fresh air, and looking out over the crystal blue seas of All Blue, Sanji couldn't help but feel content. Luffy, now the Pirate King, celebrated by starting a water fight with the rest of the crew. Laughs rang out in the sun, and smiles covered every face among the Mugiwaras. All their dreams had become true. All but one.

 

Zoro stood leaning against a palm tree, a bit away from the noisy crew. His swords hung from his hip, and for the first time in his life, they felt like a burden. He wanted to place them in the shadow and join up with his family of weirdos, but the weight of the swords and a certain promise made him wait in the shade.

 

The blond cook walked over to the green haired man, placing a hand on the trunk, leaning so his eyes were directly in front of Zoro's.

 

“You leaving?”, he asked and bit his lip. This wasn't right. Everybody's dream had come true, and now they were supposed to live all together in All Blue. Why couldn't Zoro's come true?

 

“I have to.” Zoro's eyes were avoiding the cook's. “I made a promise.”

 

Tightening his fist, Sanji slammed his hand onto the trunk of the palm. “It's not fair. You're one of us, and now you're just leaving. What's most important, your promise, or us?”

 

A faint smile tugged at Zoro's lips. “Stop acting, Sanji. You know that a promise like that can't be broken. My promise is so unbreakable, I'd do, and will do, anything. Maybe it's too unbreakable...”, he laughed.

 

He leaned forward, capturing Sanji in a hug and whispered softly:

 

“I'll make a new, even more unbreakable promise. A promise to come back to you.”
