After a long time lurking in this community, I finally decided to post something!
I really liked the topic, and I hope this isn't too... weird.

Pairing/Characters: Usopp/Luffy if you don't look too hard, mention of others
Topic: Leap of Faith

The girl is sitting at the window again, listening to stories of a brave knight who never hesitates in the face of danger.

(there are  just so many scary things outside, and maybe bravery is better left to those who are stronger and faster and better than him)

The children hold their breath while he tells them how the pirate manages to trick death time and time again.

(but what if he fails one day? Because once Death knows your face he will always remember it, and maybe running would have been the better option)

The doctor’s eyes sparkle when he hears how the hero defeats his enemies and sails of into the sunset with the beautiful princess by his side.

(and then his wounds get infected and he loses his arms and legs and the princess leaves him for someone worthier, and maybe)

The captain is calling his name, promises of adventure dancing through the air. And Usopp

jumps.


A/N: I'm not used to write in english, so please feel free to point out any horrible mistakes I made.
