Canon will probably contradict any assumptions on Califa's character, but I wrote this anyway... And I'm aware it still has nothing to do with yaoi. :P

Ahhh... might not be yaoi, but it was something I've been desperate to get more of - insight into these characters! I'm still reeling from the revelation in chapter 345, and this captures something of all that which I've been wondering about. And it does it so well! Really, really beautifully written. It got to me. Wah. Iceberg...!

Heh - it took me... about six months to finally catch up to the current manga arc, so I know the feeling. It's totally worth catching up faster, though, because this arc is absolutely wonderful and brain-breaking and heart-aching and just... genius. The revelation in 345 had to do with the plot and characters from around chapter 322 and up, so it's kind of hard to explain without summarizing the whole thing. ^^; If you're really curious, Arlong Park (http://www.arlongpark.com/) has a bunch of chapter summaries, and there's also pretty cool forum (http://66.90.103.231/) on the site, where you can probably get more answers.

The thing is, I'm back at the ARLONG Arc... And Arlong Park doesn't have summaries for a lot of the anime or manga... oy.. so much stuff... ~_~

I'm getting the translated manga, which is only on volume 5. They just introduced Sanji. I get it at a local anime store, but you can't find it at a lot of book stores.
I d/l the anime from Kaisoku-Fansubs.

Comparing with Kuro occured to me too, with the betrayal theme and all, but... The fact that these CP9 doesn't seem to be pure evil makes it much worse, and much more serious.
