Figured since I've gotten time to just sit here I could contribute.

The crash echoed loudly throughout the forest, all surrounding inhabitants quickly escaping from the ever growing rampage of the monster at the centre of it all. Another tree fell to the ground with a crackling shatter as the monster stood hunched over, his breathing loud and heavy.

Luffy looked up through hooded eyes and stared ahead of him, not really seeing much. He felt empty as if every part had been broken into a thousand pieces and scattered around the world.

‘They have,’ he thought to himself as he clenched a rubber fist before launched it forward into another dozen trees. Rayleigh had him restricted to a particular area right now to focus on one issue.

‘I have to do this alone,’ Luffy thought as he leapt forward weaving in-between trees.

‘The old man though,’ he faltered in his step as he almost lost his footing. ‘...he had them.’  The memories of Marineford burned and scorched his mind day and night and would for eternity. There was no denying that the burden was there.

Luffy released a breath and squatted on the large branch he was currently perched on. Eyes flickered back and forth for any movement that posed a highly unlikely threat. Closing his eyes the lone captain clenched his fist.

‘He had them,’ he told himself harshly as if burning the words in his mind and heart.

‘He had a crew.’

Another dozen trees fell with the stroke of a rubber axe.

‘He had a family.’

A lone lion-bear leapt out into the clearing only to be quickly subdued and left in a pathetic grovel.

‘I have a crew.’

A dozen trees more.

‘All I need.’
