Revival?

I didn't realize the last post was in January. Life flies by.

Is anyone interested if we try to get something going with this community again? I know it's the beginning of the end of summer, and I know there are a few who probably would enjoy to see this come to life again.

Are there are any suggestions to changes we could try in the judging? Or reward for fics?

Comment with some feedback, because I've regained some energy to get this community going again :)

Wow, I haven't been here in ages. Been busy and stuff. Kind of sad to see it dying and I really don't want it to.
No idea how to bring it back to life though :(

late answer but...
I'd love to see this community live up again

maybe we can do some bigger theme writing sessions, like
September/October for Halloween/autumn inspired/related drabbles
November/December for Christmas/Hanukkah/Yuletide/Kwanzaa/winter obviously
and maybe also
December/January for New Year's Eve related topics?

Or we can change the prompts to words that have to be included somehow somewhere in the drabble to make the challenge a bit different and more interesting again?

Some rewards for winning fics would be nice but it's hard to think of something interesting that wouldn't take too much effort but still be kind of rewarding, hmmm, it also depends on how many active and regular writers there might be
but I don't think the reward issue plays such a big role
one could draw some kind of lottery at specific times in which all the winners of a month/quarter or other set timeframe automatically enter
the prize could be a fanfiction or fanart for the winner or something else entirely

hmmm, it's really difficult

Hmm... I think that sounds like a good idea. Haven't been on livejournal for a damn long time, but I'm up for anything! So... should we make a November/December theme to begin it all with? So what, prompting some words and then it's to see how the mind get's inspired by those words?

I'm definitely in for it! XD Big time!

Sure, I think it's worth a try :)

It's hard to revive something on LJ. It seems most people have only been active on tumblr for the past few years, myself included. But I also sometimes miss the good old journals over here and the different feeling of a community doing things together.
But I can understand that people are busy and not always inspired, knowing that firsthand XD;

Then again, One Piece has such a great fandom, maybe it's possible to get it more lively in here once more :)

Yeah, hehe, I'm no better myself. Even my journal needs a huge face-lift, then my tumblr are much better ^c^;

So... how we do this, if we should try to bring something up?

So how we do it? Choose two or three words and people should try and write a story out from that or...? *tilts head and looks curious at you*

oh my gosh, I totally forgot to answer you! I'm so sorry D:

I think it's gonna be really hard to revive anything on LJ...maybe we could connect this with some promotion posts to bigger one piece blogs on tumblr and ask them to link back to this LJ community (because I still think that for archiving fanfiction LJ is the better platform)

I'm honestly a bit short on ideas atm D:

Maybe choose a bigger subject that's running for a certain amount of time like..."spring" and then choose three words that are typical of spring-time like "cherry blossoms", "(re-)birth", "butterfly" and the writers have to at least adhere to the main topic but if they want to challenge themselves or feel inspired can include one, two or all three of the assigned terms to include in their writing (and of course writers are always invited to write off-topic, too, but maybe if we have some kind of "winner" at the end, only the ones writing for the topic can be included in the drawing of the winner, just as it has been the rule here before)

maybe it would also do good to change the format of the usual "the winner choses the next topic and next winner" formula to a more generic one like polls which would include all the other members in the process

for example, during a certain subject run it would be great to already think about the next topic and maybe have three to five topics as a choice for a poll, to make this even more immersive a suggestion thread would also be great so that people can post some ideas or requests for topics that they'd like to see/read/write about on this community

I guess the first thing to achieve would be to re-awaken the interest in this community and then we might be getting more ideas from enthusiastic writers

As I said, I think maybe asking the mods from one piece blogs to promote this to their followers would be the best way
Or you could open up a one piece writing tumblr yourself to connect it to this LJ community

*sigh*

it's really difficult, isn't it
