For the Seme Sanji Topic

Rating: PG
Word Count: 300
Pairing: Sanji/Ace
Notes: Apologies for the overall groan of a title and for possible lameness.
He could sense the small flame blossoming to life behind him before he could see it. The cook was there, cigarette between smirking lips, and Ace wondered how long he’d been watching in the dark. The grin he flashed wasn’t guilty, but he slid the remains of a sandwich behind his back.
“So you are brothers after all.”
Fire-bright eyes blinked, slightly confused.
“So polite and well-mannered. It was hard to believe you two are related. But now, now I understand.”
Sanji paused, taking a long drag. The smoke trailed wraith-like in the gloom.
“I expected to catch him, but I guess one’s as good as the other…finish it off and I’ll make you another.”
Ace swallowed the rest of his sandwich, watching as long-fingered hands fashioned a new one. The chef didn’t just make food, he created it. There was an air of artistry in the galley when Sanji worked and total mastery of his domain. It had taken only a minute, two at most, but the sandwich he presented was perfect. And it tasted even better. The rest of the cigarette dwindled, stubbed out as the last bites disappeared into a satisfied stomach. A sudden flame danced on Ace’s fingertip, dispelling a few of the shadows.
“Figures Luffy raids your kitchen, too. He cause you a lot of trouble?”
“Sometimes. I don’t know which is worse, having to stay awake or trying to replace everything he eats. But don’t worry about it. He makes up for it.”
Ace considered the sandwich he’d just eaten, as well as the three or four he’d made himself.
“Is there anything I can do?”
A curly brow arched and another cigarette appeared, lit itself unasked with Ace’s fire.
“If you’re anything like your brother, I think we can come to an arrangement.”

Date: 2004-12-08 01:34 pm (UTC)I like Ace in this. He's usually written pretty sex-godily, which is fun, but didn't exactly happen in canon since canon OP is neutered. And Sanji is ... almost calculating. XD;
