It's Chopper's Birthday!
Dec. 24th, 2004 12:29 amTitle: Chopper's Brithday
Rating: G
Pairing: Zoro/Chopper
Word Count: 288
Notes: More birthday than X-Mas. Ah, well.
Zoro was aware that he was being shaken. A familiar little voice was calling him: "Zoro...? Zoro...?" Zoro opened one eye to look at Chopper, his newest nakama. It suddenly occurred to the sleepy, rather drunk swordsman that it was the little reindeer's birthday, which explained his intoxication. He lifted his head and looked around. There were the remains of a party scattered about the deck, but no signs of his crewmates except Chopper. "Where'd everybody go? Is the party over?"
"Yeah. Everyone else went to bed."
"Mmmm..." With that, Zoro let his head fall back onto the deck. It was a nice night, so he saw no reason not to just sleep right where he was.
He'd been laying there a few moments when he realized that he hadn't heard Chopper's hooves tapping against the deck signaling his departure. Looking over, he saw that the little doctor was lying a few feet from him. It seemed Chopper had decided to sleep outside, too. Zoro smiled. He'd found himself developing quite a fondness for the reindeer. Reaching out, he pulled his little nakama towards him.
"What are you doing," Chopper asked, understandably surprised.
"Relax," said Zoro, not wanting to scare him. "My arms're cold, your fur's warm." This apparently worked, for there was no further resistance as Zoro pulled Chopper right up against his chest, putting his strong arms around the reindeer. After a moment, he spoke up, "So, did you have a nice birthday?"
"Yeah," Chopper replied. "Thanks for the whetstones. I... er... need to be able to sharpen my antlers..."
Zoro sighed, knowing Chopper was lying. Still, right now he was too sleepy to care. Snuggling even closer to the reindeer, he let himself fall asleep.

Date: 2004-12-24 07:22 pm (UTC)Oh, yeah!
Well, I did want it to be a... less than stellar gift. Not everyone is good at that sort of thing, especially when they're short of funds, as Zoro always tends to be.
Thanks!
Indeed. Heh.

Date: 2004-12-24 09:32 pm (UTC)Indeed. You know it's on DVD, right? There's three DVDs, "Doom Doom, Doom", "Progressive Stupidity" (heh), and "Horrible Holiday Cheer".
Oh! I should watch the Zim X-Mas episode (and it is called "X-Mas").
"The Santa has won..."
And another good icon. I need to get a new one...
