Drabble: The Christmas Spirit
Topic: Christmas
Word Count: 300
Pairing: ZoSan, of course.
Rating: PG-13
A/N: SO Un-Christmasy.
The rules changed when the Holidays came. The regular patterns ceased and the world moved differently for a while, away from the routine expectancies of the everyday.
Certain things were abandoned in the spirit of good cheer.
So Zoro and Sanji, red-faced and laughing, arms thrown around each other in drunken companionship, was not an odd occurrence. At least, not for this time of year.
Chopper sipped his cider and watched as the two held each other up, glad that they weren’t fighting. Whether because of Christmas or for his birthday party, it didn’t matter. He was just glad that they could do something as friends.

THUNK
He blinked as the two he’d been watching were suddenly both on the floor with Zoro growling and looking like he was pinning the squirming cook on his back.
“Aaah, Zoro, get off of Sanji! Don’t!! Stop…”
Usopp laughed from his seat beside Tony, thwacking the doctor’s back heartily. “Eeh? Leave ‘em alone Choppa… they’re jus’ bein’ frienly! Like ya wanted!”
The reindeer blinked incredulously at the inebriated canoneer. “Really?”
Usopp nodded sagely. “’S the Chrissamas spririts. They’re ‘spressin their holiday cheer. Ya know, ‘xchangin’ gifts.”
Tony let himself relax slightly. “Oh.”
“Mmmmmmgh!!!!”
Alarmed by Sanji’s almost pain-filled sound, Chopper’s eyes bugged slightly. “Oi…Usopp are you sure about this?”
“I’m tellin’ ya, Choppa, Zoro’s jus’ in the givin’ mood. ‘S the joy of Chrissamas!”
“Aa…hah…hah… haaaah!!”
Chopper had to agree that the sound Sanji had just made certainly didn’t sound as distressed as the first one. Maybe Usopp was right. “Oh. Okay.”
Usopp grinned and stood to make a toast. “To tha Chrissamus spirit! With tha givin’ and the takin’ an’ all the other fun stuff!”
Relieved, the reindeer raised his tankard against Usopp’s. “To the Christmas spirit!”
“Nnnnngggghh!!!!”
