Comments: XD Interesting that this topic should crop up just as I get re-fixated on the whole animal incarnation concept... I just recently drew foxy Sanji and tiger-boy Zoro XD In case you're not familiar with the animal incarnations, they come from one of the video games... I forget the name of it. O_o; But Sanji's a fox, Zoro's a tiger, Nami's a cat, Robin's a toucan, Usopp's a kappa (poor Usopp) and Luffy, of course, is a monkey. XD They're all so killer cute. ...Well except Usopp and Robin, they're really kinda scary... Anyway, on with the drabble. I think I may continue this from behind the door. X3
Nami's tail swayed slowly as she turned the page of her magazine, lounging at the galley table. An ear flicked as a crash resounded from the pantry.
"Ne... Nami..." Chopper peeked around the doorway a little bit shyly, before climbing up beside his feline crewmate. "...Why are Zoro and Sanji locked in the pantry...?"
There was a vicious tiger's snarl from behind the door, followed by a solid thump that made the wood creak with protest. Zoro's striped tail swiped under the door before there was the scraping of claws and it dissapeared again.
"Mating season," Nami replied without bothering to look up.
A yelp, another thump -- pots and pans crashed loudly to the floor -- a growl.
"Mating...?" Chopper repeated, blushing through his fur. "What about the rest of us?" he asked, a little worried.
Nami smiled and patted his head. "It seems the rest of you boys haven't reached sexual maturity yet," she explained. Robin was safe, her species too far apart from the rest of the crew to be any interest to the hormonal boys. But Nami was tired of evading them -- it was easy enough to trick them into the pantry with promise of no release until they worked off their energy.
Musing to herself, it took a moment for Nami to realize that they were listening to Sanji's supine whimpers beneath Zoro's rumbling growls. Heavy breaths mingled with angry snarls beneath the door, quiet curses dropped between. Chopper was blushing harder, tugging the brim over his hat over his eyes.
"N-Nami... I... I think you were wrong..."
Nami's eyes widened as the reindeer was suddenly in his larger form, glazed eyes and wide hands reaching for her. It was only her catlike reflexes that let her bolt across the room, door slamming on Chopper's advances.

Date: 2005-02-26 02:37 pm (UTC)And this was just great. Love the idea of them in animal forms. Poor Nami isn't as smart as she thinks she is...^_^

And ya know what...ironically enough on the drive home today I was musing about what animals the Going Merry crew would be if they were furries. Usopp would be a poodle....

Date: 2005-02-27 06:08 am (UTC)The story’s brilliant, and I was so happy to see something featuring the crew in their animal forms. *cue blatantly obvious dropping of hints* If your re-fixation on the animal incarnation concept holds, and you feel like writing more (longer, even) stories featuring it, I’d be very interested in reading them. The animal incarnation thing has always interested me because of all that could be done with it (just adding a tail and re-located ears would have to cause things to be handled somewhat differently, not to mention the claws and fangs). *end blatantly obvious dropping of hints, with apologies for rambling*
