Hina didn't generally make bargains with pirates- she might tell them she would, but once the information was given they'd always end up in irons- or seastone, as the case may be.
But this one...
This one had piqued her interest.
"I heard about your weakness..." she had said with a knowing look, before that dance could even begin. A short discussion later, and a deal was struck.
The pirate apparently had a contact on the marine's own ship - which amazed and worried her at the same time; but regardless, served them well in this instance, as the source of this location.
Now sheltered in the connecting room, they watched through a few well-placed knotholes- conveniently produced earlier in the day.
It was sometimes hard to make out the forms through the lingering smoke, but they could still see two bodies sliding over each other, twining together in the core. The forms were never wholly solid- bodies slicked with sweat and mingling together at the fleeting boundary between them; here, a muscled shoulder trailing into smoke- there, a caressing arm blazing into fire. Their transient forms blended so closely in places, it was impossible to find where one began and the other ended.
It was... breathtaking.
A quill scratched quietly beside her, and Hina's attention shifted to watch as forms began to take shape on paper.
"So, was it worth it?" The girl asked with a sly smile, glancing up from her work. The marine smiled slightly in return.
"Hina likes to watch..."

Some weeks later, volume 4 in a highly regarded series was released to great praise. A special copy was mailed to a certain Lieutenant Tashigi- accompanied by a few rare 'reference' pictures.
Smoker wondered later, why the woman went red every time she saw him.

I feel dumb now, since I couldn’t remember, or find any references to Tashigi’s status- someone correct me if I’m wrong, k? ^_^
