Title: Too Much of a Good Thing
Rating: PG
Pairing: implied Z/S
Words: 286
Theme: Food
The crew was slowly shuffling their way in to the galley, all yawns and stretches as they fell into the morning routine that has been developed. Nami reading the paper, Zoro still mostly asleep at the table, Usopp fighting Luffy away from the fridge and the counter while he made himself a drink. Chopper trailing along, timidly asking if he might have some too. Sanji was the last to show up, which was rather unusual -- the cook tended to be an earlier riser than the others as he liked to have breakfast already started when everyone woke. It made it harder for Luffy to steal the ingredients.
When he did arrive, Nami glanced up, vague surprise coloring her features. Their chef looked considerably more haggard than he ever allowed himself to appear, more pale as well.
"Sanji-kun?" she questioned over the edge of her paper. "Are you feeling well?"
Sanji blinked at her and all but melted, blushing darkly. "Aaa~Nami-san..." he swooned, a little weakly. "Your kindness is overwhelming... your concern... touching..." A weak smile. "But I'm fine..."
Chopper was peering up at him, a little skeptically. "You're pale... and sweaty..." he observed with all the bluntness of a doctor. The deer frowned when Sanji's stomach churned loudly.
Sanji swallowed thickly and offered another weak smile, fishing for a cigarette with slightly shaky hands. "Just a little upset stomach, that's all..."
"Na, Sanji..." Usopp said over his shoulder from in front of the open fridge. "Is all the whipped cream gone? I wanted some for my hot chocolate..."
It was Zoro though, not Sanji, who at that moment bolted quite suddenly from the room to make a bee-line for the railing outside.
