Just because you were born and raised in a country where it’s always cold doesn’t mean you’ll ever get use to the freezing weather. And Chess was at the moment definitely not use to the arctic ocean breeze hitting him in the face.
Back when Drum was a thriving country he’d been a Senator. Now here he was freezing his ass off stuck on lookout duty again. How had that happened? Not that is mattered now, he was loyal to Wapol and would be till the day he died. He’d follow his king wherever it lead him. Too bad it wasn’t to someplace warmer.
“Cold enough for you?”
Chess turned, and would have smiled had he been capable of it, seeing Kuromarimo standing there with a pot of steaming coffee in one hand and two mugs in the other. “Plenty cold thank you.”
The afro-ed henchman took a seat next to his friend, pouring them each a cup. “I was afraid I was gonna come up here and find you frozen stiff.”
“Can’t get rid rid of me that easily.” Chess sipped his coffee, leaning against Kuromarimo as the man tossed an arm over his shoulder.
“Good, I wouldn’t want too.”
So maybe lookout duty wasn’t so bad. At least the night was a little warmer now.
