Ace winced.
"Well? I'll stop if you tell me where your captain is."
"Why don't you just go to hell?"
Mihawk smiled, pressing the seastone tighter against the boy's chest for emphasis. "Tell me." He shrugged. "Why are you so worried? If your captain is as powerful as the rumors say, he'll be able to at least hold his own against me in a fight."
"It's not about that," the younger pirate spat back weakly. "It's the principle of it. I'm not about to betray my captain."
"A man of honor, I see."
"That's right. I'd rather die than betray Whitebeard."
The swordsman smiled again. He leaned in, looking deep into the boy's obsidian eyes. "Well, now... dying for what you believe in, that's easy..." He ran his free hand lazily across Ace's bare chest. "What are you willing to DO to save your captain...?"
Ace stiffened. He knew what Mihawk meant; how could he not? But there was no way he could do it; especially not under these circumstances. Besides, this felt too much like... cheating.
"It's simple: If you give yourself to me for..." he looked towards the window. "Until sunset, I'll forget we ran into each other." He looked thoughtful. "And who knows... I might forget there's even a pirate named Whitebeard..."
Ace looked warily at the older man. "Are you saying... if I do this, you'll never go after Whitebeard again?"
"On my honor as a Shichibukai. Some of us DO have honor." As if to prove it, he moved the seastone away from Ace's chest.
Ace slumped against the wall, relieved. He looked up at the other pirate. "I'll do it. But I swear, if you ever--"
"I assure you I won't," said Mihawk, pressing his lips to Ace's.
Forgive me, Smoker...
