"How could I know that fate would throw him into my path like that? At first I didn't recognise it, but eventually I understood his true nobility!"

"... Right."

"He was so strong, so handsome, so polite! A real knight in shining armour!"

"He was wearing armour?"

"THAT'S JUST A METAPHOR! *Ahem.* His heart was so pure and true and kind, he was always rescuing damsels in distress."

"Sounds like a twerp."

"What was that?"

"Nothing! Nothing! So, he was rescuing damsels."

"Yes! Always! And even though we were enemies, he treated me with respect. No-one's EVER treated me with respect before!"

"I wonder why."

"Me too!"

"Er, yeah. So you confessed."

"I did, yes, I did. And we spent the most beautiful night of passionate love together. Oh, when I think back on it, words fail me!"

"Thank God for that."

"It was perfect, everything was just PERFECT. He was so strong, and gentle. But in the morning... *sniff* He... he rejected me! He said I wasn't the man he thought I was. He threw me out, said he never wanted to see me again. *sniff, sniff*. How could he be so cruel? When I gave him everything, EVERYTHING!"

Bon Clay put his hands over his face and wailed. "WHY WON'T HE LOVE MEEEEE???!!!!"

Shanks winced and looked over at Ben, who gave him his patented, "why must you attract all the crazy ones?" look.

"There, there," he said finally. "I'm sure things will work out."

"I WOULD HAVE LET HIM HAVE ME ANY WAY HE WANTED!!! I WOULD HAVE LET HIM HAVE ME ANY WHERE HE WANTED!!! WAAAAAAAAHHH!!!"

Shanks twitched. "Ben, I'm going to need a lot more beer."

"You and everyone else, Captain."
