Up He Rises

Chopper scampered forward, poked Zoro in the ribs, and ran away to hide behind the mast in his own singular fashion.
*
Usopp wasn't so much interested in winning. He had his own agenda.
He giggled over the clean angles the marker made as he turned the ends of the mustache up.
*
Nami glared on her way to pay for the paper. Zoro rolled over, but soon resumed snoring.
*
Luffy watched, eyes wide, as tiny licks of fire crept down the splints toward Zoro's toes.
*
Vivi's footsteps rang over the deck as she marched up and flung a bucket of water over the sleeping man.
Luffy scrambled back, clutching his hat and gaping in dismay. "Vivi! you're supposed to wait your turn!"
Vivi brought her hands to her mouth in dismay, dropping the bucket onto Zoro's leg in the process--producing no response in the victim. "Luffy! I didn't see you there!"
"Enh? I was right here! Vi~Vi~~~!"
*
Sanji took a last drag on his cigarette before tossing it over the rail. He planted his hands on either side of Zoro's head, puckered up, and leaned in. The swordsman did apparently have some sense of danger, if of mysterious application. His eyes snapped open.
Zoro squinted at the drops of water clinging to his eyelashes, slowly refocusing. His eyes were only inches from Sanji's devilish one, which blinked--or winked--at him. He sucked in his breath.
And let it out in a bellow. "I told you guys to CUT IT OUT!"
Luffy popped up. "Oi, Zoro....maybe you should stop sleeping in the sun. Your face is getting red."
"SHUT UP!"
*
Nami ran over her winnings, radiating satisfaction over the crew's meager provides. "Nice job, Sanji-kun."
Sanji preened. "My pleasure, Nami-san!"
"I'm sure," Nami purred as she flipped the paper open.
