Jun. 28th, 2005 02:02 pmTitle: ...none. Brain no work-y anymore...
Theme: Hurt/Comfort
Pairing: Zoro/Sanji nakama-ship
Rated: R for blood
Words: 300
Little distracted Zoro when he was in the heat of battle.
One particular scream, however, drew his attention to the bow where he caught glimpses of flying rubber fists. All normal… then Luffy dodged, and he saw Sanji.
“Oi, Luffy!” Zoro called through the thinning wave of pirates. “What’s wrong with the shitty cook?”
“Dunno! He won’t move!”
By the time Zoro reached them, Luffy had dispatched the last of the intruders, and the cook’s shoulders were shaking visibly.
“Letting us do all the work, eh?” Zoro grunted, to no response.
As Zoro stepped closer he could see the ruined fabric and dark blood that marked the place where a stray sword had sliced up Sanji’s thigh to his hip. Zoro frowned. Sanji had taken worse than this. Unless…
“Oi. Cook.”
Sanji’s eyes flicked up to Zoro’s face and back down.
“Luffy, get Chopper.”
Zoro turned back to the cook as their captain hurried to find the reindeer. “Take your hand out of your pocket,” he ordered.
Sanji kept shaking his head even as he let Zoro very carefully pull his hand free.
Zoro sucked in a breath. The sword’s path cut through three fingers, flesh parted to the bone. Zoro didn’t doubt the skill of their doctor, but he knew the value of Sanji’s hands, even if he’d never acknowledge his understanding aloud.
Sanji’s face seemed to grow paler with every heartbeat and he stared silently at his injured hand even after Zoro twisted his bandana around the wound.
“Oi, idiot,” Zoro scolded, rallying his best attempt at cheer. “Even with both hands tied behind your back, you’d still be the best damned cook on the Grand Line. Let Chopper do his thing. I’ll make lunch today.”
“…like hell you will.”
Zoro knew their cook would be okay.
So, we've all been pretty quiet this week... what do people think about extending the topic til next Wednesday? Any objections? Only one post so far makes me a sad monkey...

Date: 2005-06-28 09:15 pm (UTC)As for extending the topic... Sometimes you don't get replies till the last day (I've felt the same "No one's replying!" panic you're having). But I'd have no problem with you extending it.
