Title: Love of Adventure
Words: 298
Pairing: Luffy/Zoro
Rating: PG
Note: The title is awful. I suck at titles, suck really bad.
Zoro had always known Luffy had a reckless streak, a tendency towards danger. After all, being a pirate wasn't exactly the world's safest profession. And Luffy was a pirate who had started out in a rowboat, with no sense of direction, an inability to swim, and more optimism than most people possessed in a lifetime. Of course, the fact that Luffy decided that Roronoa Zoro, feared pirate hunter, should be his first crewman just emphasized his disregard for caution, as well perhaps, his obstinacy and sometime cluelessness. Yes, Luffy rushed headlong into life, dragging everyone around him along for the ride, ready or not.
This lust for life, this love of adventure appealed strongly to the swordsman, an adrenalin junky himself. So it was with only a bit of surprise, a smidgen of shock, that Zoro found himself involved with Luffy in more ways than one. It was a relationship built around mutual trust and respect and included a healthy dose of affection. Luffy, after all, was a huggy kind of guy, as well as persistent, and he wore down Zoro's initial resistance with constant touching and relentless enthusiasm.
Their love life was complicated, mainly by the fact that the Going Merry was small and somewhat crowded. It was also marked by certain incidents of experimentation and danger. Which was how Zoro found himself braced up against the closed door of a bathroom stall, pants around his ankles. The restaurant was crowded, and they were in a hurry to finish. He grinned as Luffy moved behind him; this had been unexpected as well. But it turned out that they were equals here, too. And the change of positions always made things more interesting. It seemed that Zoro liked the thrill of adventure almost as much as his captain.
