I'm going to say this right now -- it's been said before and it's the mantra of this fandom. Pairing wars are NOT accepted here. Pettiness over whether there's too much of something and not enough of something else is not cool. If you think there's not enough of something it is YOUR responsibility to provide it -- not whine about how it doesn't exist. And if something's prolific, it's prolific for a reason -- as in lots of people like it. You don't have to look at it. So don't.

In the interest of non-descrimination against specific pairings and characters, after this week, topics using exclusions of characters or pairings will not be allowed. You may ask for a specific character in any pairing, but not EXCLUDING any character. You may express inclincation toward or against specific pairings and are perfectly free to make your judging decision based upon your own preferences (aka, extra points for.) Everyone is entitled to their preferences -- what you're NOT entitled to is telling other people that their preferences are worth less than yours.

This week's topic will continue as planned (and, [livejournal.com profile] monimonika, this is by no means meant to point a finger at you, so please don't take it that way. n_n) It's a fun topic and I like it and hope to see lots more from it.

The One Piece Yaoi fandom is hailed by everyone in it as being kind, sane, tollerant and mature -- a tribute to the nakamaship that the series itself embodies. Something that most of yaoi fandom tends to lack on a whole. I expect it to stay that way.

I know exactly what ya mean. As much as I would like to see a no ZoSan challange sometime I'd hate to make anyone feel left out

...this community is AMAZING. In less than 24 hours after issuing the topic (checked post times) I got nine on-topic drabbles, plus one on-topic ficlet. And many more seem to be on the way even as I type. That must be some kind of a record. What did I start?

I'd like to take this opportunity to explain why I chose this topic. The inspiration came from reading this drabble (http://www.livejournal.com/community/onepieceyaoi100/171452.html) by [livejournal.com profile] fenm and its (http://www.livejournal.com/community/onepieceyaoi100/177911.html) sequels (http://www.livejournal.com/community/onepieceyaoi100/195426.html). The drabbles made me wonder how else Ace can be made to be uke in a pairing that doesn't have Smoker in it. I later added in the other conditions just to force the need for some creativity.

This was purely meant as a challenge and not as an anti-SmoAce rally (I don't even have a preference one way or another for UkeAce). SmoAce, though not my favorite pairing, is on the preferred side of the fence for me. The very fact that I called this topic difficult shows how entrenched the pairing is in my brain. I'm now eating my words. Mmm...crunchy.

On that note, I say to [livejournal.com profile] kinbu: Good move.
I didn't realize how badly an exclusion topic like mine could be interpreted until you put up this warning. Fortunately, the emotional damage (if any) was minimal and I'm glad this topic wasn't banned. I thank everyone here for their understanding, (non-boring) maturity, and enthusiasm.

Now, let's see how much steam this community has left >:D
