“Flip a coin for it?”
“I don’t have one. Shanks spent all my money. Besides, there are three of us.”
“How about you do it? You’re the oldest.”
“That’s exactly why you should do it. You’re the youngest.”
Ace wisely kept his mouth shut as the two started squabbling over why it was the eldest or the youngest’s duty. Who’d have believed, after all they’d faced and seen, that these two men would argue about something so petty? Then again, they were pretty drunk, although not as drunk as the three captains passed out, two snoring very loudly, in the adjacent room.
Luffy had claimed his treasure, made himself pirate king. And with Shanks’ assistance, and the timely arrival of Whitebeard’s fleet, they’d all overcome the vast conspiracy of the World Government. They’d celebrated accordingly. Luffy, not a drinker, had passed out after two glasses of heavily spiked punch – courtesy of his idol. Shanks and Whitebeard had lasted far longer, and Ace was awed by the much smaller man’s ability to hold his liquor. But at last they’d passed out, leaving himself and two horny first mates without their usual bed partners.
“You know,” and Ace couldn’t miss the smugness of the tone, “he’s actually a captain himself, leader of the second fleet.”
“You’re right. He certainly is. I think I see what you’re gettin’ at. But who’ll go first or take the middle?”
It was beginning to look like they’d fight all night, so Ace decided to settle matters.
“You,” and he dropped to his knees, pulling the older one to his front, “here. And you,” he unbuttoned his shorts, gestured to the swordsman, “here.”
When they started arguing again about the positioning, he did the only thing he could think of to shut them up. Thankfully it worked.
