‘Ace.’ Ace turned away from the sink to face his brother, standing in the doorway, eyes half lidded, yet expectant. ‘You’re almost done, right? You’re coming to bed soon?’

‘Yeah, I just have to finish those.’ Ace motioned to the plate and two forks left in the dish water.

‘Leave ‘em till morning. I need you in bed now, Ace.’ Luffy's voice took on a mildly impatient tone.

Ace sighed and rubbed his hands dry on a dish towel, hanging it up as thunder boomed through the air. Luffy jumped and moved fully into the room and to Ace’s side. Ace didn’t fight as his hands were taken and he was lead towards Luffy’s room.

Someday, he was sure Luffy would grow up enough not to be afraid of storms. But until then, there was little he could do but let his brother have his way.
