Topic: First Kiss
Note: This takes place during the year after Luffy ate the Devil Fruit but before Shanks-tachi left Fuchsia Village for good.
"So, now you'll let me be a pirate?!"
"No, Luffy," Shanks replied, "This was just a trip! I thought you might like to see the famous floating restaurant, is all."
"But I wanna be a pirate!"
Ben picked the boy up. "C'mon, why don’t you go play with your brother..." Carrying the boy out of his captain's cabin, Ben sat him on the deck next to his brother, who had a fishing line hung over the railing. "We're going too fast for that, Ace."
"I know..."
Ben just shook his head and went back into Shanks' room.
Luffy sat watching his brother with a pout. Then he sighed. He looked at his brother curiously. "So... what'd he taste like?"
"What?"
"You know, that boy..." Luffy twisted his eyebrow like the boy's had been. "You looked like you were gonna eat him."
"I was not!" Ace practically dropped his pole. "What do you think I am, a carnival?!"
"Well, that's what it LOOKED like you were doin'."
"I wasn't! I was..." the older boy blushed, "I was kissin' him..."
"Oh..." Luffy screwed up his face in concentration. "Oh, yeah, Shanks told me about kissin'. He said it's what you do to people you love. Oh!" He leaned toward his brother. "Wanna kiss me?"
"No!"
Luffy leaned back, a look of shock on his face. "You... you don’t love me...?" He sniffled, then burst out crying. "MY BROTHER HATES ME!"
Ace DID drop his pole this time, reaching out to grab his sobbing brother's arm. "No! I don’t hate you! I... ok, I'll kiss you!"
"Really," asked Luffy, through his sniffles.
Ace smiled, "Sure," he said, using the edge of his shirt to dry Luffy's tears. Then, with a smile, he leaned in, giving his brother a soft, gentle kiss.
