Rating: G-ish. Slightly angsty.
Pairing: Zoro/Luffy, with past Zoro&Kuina bond
Word Count: 300
Topic: First Kiss
Notes: Section in italics is a flashback.
It's a minor wound, not even qualifying as a damn flesh wound, and Luffy still won't stop yowling about how much it hurts.
"Shut up!" Sanji yells, "Are you a man or not?!"
"But it huuuuuuuuurtssss..." Luffy whines, and Zoro sighs and moves in to protect his stupid captain from their stupid cook.
"Shove off," he suggests, politely. "Isn't there some food thing you have to make for those damn women or something?"
Sanji is clearly torn between developing hearts in his eyes and kicking Zoro in the head, but the girls win out even in absentia and he rushes off to the kitchen to make some super-deluxe, love-love, who-the-hell-cares snack.
Luffy sniffles pathetically.
"This is ridiculous," Zoro complains, kneeling down to look at the graze. There's not even any damn blood! He snorts and grabs the bandage, ready to bind the so-called injury.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!"
Zoro's this far away from committing Captain-cide when his eyes (they may not be eagle eyes, but they're pretty damn good), catch sight of something in the wound.
"A splinter?"
Carefully, he pries the metal shard free and examines it briefly, before gently binding Luffy's knee. Luffy wipes his face and gives him a brave smile. "Thanks Zoro, it doesn't hurt anymore!"
"No," Zoro whispers, "It still hurts."
"Honestly, are you sure you're a boy?" Kuina demands, even as she carefully lays the splinter aside. "How do you expect to beat me when something like this makes you cry?"
"M'not crying!" Zoro glares at her defiantly, his face still damp from the tears.
He never could lie.
Kuina's face softens briefly, and she leans down and kisses his arm.
It's the first time he's ever been kissed.
"Feel better now?"
Zoro kisses Luffy's bandage gently, and looks up to meet wide eyes.
"Feel better now?"

And given how Luffy just kept on going to cream Croc without complaint, I think he's whining for attention just because he CAN, it's SAFE to do so, and it's Zoro.
