fenm's drabble "Luffy's First Kiss." It was irresistible, I'm such an AceSan sucker that I had to do the prequel. Kiddy Ace is so fucking suave.
The kitchen had been busy that day. A group of rowdy but friendly pirates had come and ordered a banquet for themselves, taking the Baratie over for some sort of party. Sanji had noticed there were a couple of kids his age there, too, which he thought was strange.
They were obviously related to each other. Both had shining ebony hair, dark eyes, and wide smiles. The older one had freckled cheeks and a trickier, focused gaze, which Sanji found hypnotizing. The boy noticed his stare and strolled over his way.
“Hey, what’s your name?”
“Er...S-Sanji...” The small cook’s eyes diverted to the floor.
“That’s a good name.” The dark-haired boy tilted Sanji’s chin up, forcing the blonde to look at him again. “You’re cute, and this place has yummy food. How old are you?”
“Uh...eight...”
“Hm. I’m a year older than you. That makes it alright to ask. You ever been kissed?”
That was certainly something he had never been asked before. “Er-- no... why do you want to know that?”
“Because.” At that, the other boy leaned in swiftly, cupping Sanji’s cheek in his hand and pressing their lips together. It was warm and sort of tickly, and gave him a fuzzy feeling in his stomach.
After a couple moments, the alien pair of chapped lips left his, and the blonde blinked rapidly, slack-jawed. The kid grinned. “My name’s Ace. I gave you your first kiss, so now you can’t forget my name. I’m gonna be on big wanted posters some day, and you’ll feel famous ‘cause you got kissed by me.” Flashing pearly white teeth, he turned and waved, strutting back to where he had come from across the room.
Sanji never did forget that name. And secretly, he felt a little famous when he saw the incredible amount on that wanted poster.
