Last minute entry. ^^;;
Aug. 10th, 2005 06:34 pmTitle: Denial
Pairing: Luffy/Usopp, mentions of Usopp/Kaya
Rating: PG
Theme: First kisses
Words: 210
Usopp had dreamed, many times, of just what his first kiss would be like. It would be gentle, sincere, and technically unmatched. It would be with a blonde princess, after he'd returned from his travels, and he'd kiss her while she leaned out of her window like it was a scene from a fairy tale. It would tell a story that he couldn't tell with a thousand words.
And even with his boundless imagination, he never would have thought that his first kiss would be over before he could blink. Or that it would be from an overzealous captain, flying through the room after catapulting off of his rubber limbs like he was a slingshot. Luffy's face mashed into his own, his mouth only open for screaming.
Luffy was gone by the time he finished coughing and collecting himself. And probably for the best.
It wasn't the first time things hadn't gone according to plan. You rebuild dreams when they fall apart, pick up the pieces and, of course, plot revenge (deluxe tabasco star in Luffy's breakfast sounded about right).
And after composing a letter to Syrup village with the most eloquent wording of "It didn't count", he began his grandiose dreams of how the second kiss would be.
