Luffy had been crying at night. Silently, but the swordsman couldn’t help but notice the shuddering against him and the wetness that touched his skin. Since he was trying so hard not to wake anyone, Zoro assumed his captain wanted to hide his sorrow from his crew, to stay strong for them, so he was hesitant about doing anything to comfort him without being asked.

Then the boy rolled over and looked at his first mate with tired eyes. “Zoro... I miss Usopp... I miss him all the time...even when I’m eating and even when I’m playing. I miss him.”

The swordsman sighed, and met his captain’s gaze. “Luffy... You chose that idiot, you chose him over all the other sharpshooters in the world.” The stoic young man pressed their lips together, gently, in a promise. “He’s yours, we’re all yours, and we’re all meant for you. No matter where we go or how long we’re gone, we’re always going to come back.”
