A frown graced the face of the ships captain as he looked over the table and saw Usopp and Sanji talking to one another. He was moody due to the fact dinner wasn’t going to be ready for another hour or so, and the fact Usopp liked Sanji more...
It wasn’t fair… him and Usopp had been friends first! And now they had Sanji their sniper kept falling over him self to get noticed and play games with the cook. Why did Usopp like Sanji more? In his eyes he was better for Usopp…
“Are you ok Luffy?” Usopp asked and raised an eye-brow; Luffy nodded and then whined “Just hungry…”
Luffy huffed a little when Usopp and Sanji laughed at a joke Usopp had made, before HE came to the ship it was him and Usopp making jokes… why was this annoying him so much? They were ALL nakama!
The day dragged by for Luffy, he was still confused and thinking to himself. He sat on the figure head and thought more to himself. So what was it Sanji had that he didn’t? A wide grin appeared on Luffy’s face as it all clicked. Sanji could cook…
He was going to cook for Usopp… how hard could it be!

Usopp rubbed his eyes a little and heard noise down in the galley... What was Sanji doing up this late? He had been on his way to get a class of water. “Sanji?” he asked and looked around.
The sight he got was not of the blond chef but of his captain... in a pink apron no doubt and what looked like chocolate icing all over his face and down himself. Luffy grinned more and walked over to Usopp sitting him down at the table.
“You like Sanji so much because he can cook… so I cooked you something!” Luffy came over to the table and set down his ‘masterpiece’. Which was a lopsided cake like object with chocolate frosting with white icing witch out lined a giant smiley face.
Usopp blinked and stared at the… whatever it was...
He was pretty sure he could see egg shell in the surface. He then deducted that his captain had tried to make him a cake, not sure what to say he smiled.
“Uh it looks great Luffy! Thank you”
Luffy grinned more and sat down by Usopp watching the tanned boy with an admiring look. He then shuffled closer and looked at his own hands a little.
“Does this mean you like me more then Sanji now?”
Usopp blinked and looked at Luffy, was that what this was about? He knew the boy was naïve but also sensitive he didn’t want to upset him... Whereas he did have deeper feelings for the chef he hadn’t gone out of his way like the younger boy had for him.
“Yeah, yeah I do”
He was relived to see the large cheerful grin of his captain return as he rubbed the side of his face and smudged the chocolate into smears.
Sometimes little white lies aren’t a bad thing...
