Pairing: Mr. 9/Kohza
"You two can get to know each other, I'll be back with tea!"
Mr. 9 smiled over the table. "Princess Wednesday is royalty, but she still gets the tea herself!"
"Her name is not Princess Wednesday." Kohza's voice was tight. "Her name is Princess Vivi."
"Don't take it so seriously!" Mr. 9 gestured aimlessly. "Such a dull guy. Miss Wednesday must be really patient with you."
"Now you even dropped the Princess part!"
"It's just a nickname! We were partners, you know." Mr. 9 said.
"Yes, I know." Kohza knew he was being immature about this. But did the mercenary have to use a loaded word like 'partners' instead of 'friends'?
"Hmm... jealous?" Mr. 9 leaned forward against the table, smirking.
Kohza stuttered. "Wh-what? I didn't...!"
"Relax, baby!" Mr. 9 shook a finger. "I'm not competition for her."
"What do you mean?" Kohza frowned.
"It's just not my thing."
"What's not your thing?" Now Kohza was mystified.
"That is to say, I pitch for the home team."
"What? I thought you used bats." Kohza's scar started to throb, the first sign of a headache. "What are you talking about?"
"Hmm." Mr. 9 tilted his head as though examining Kohza for some hidden flaw. "You get nine guesses, baby! And the first eight don't count."
Finally registering it, Kohza reddened.
I had to edit it a lot to get it down under 300 words, so I'm not sure it came out as I wanted. But hopefully if I keep trying, I'll get the hang of this whole super short drabble deal!
