Rating: G
Word Count: 186
Pairing: Luffy x Ussop
Topic: off-topic?
Note: Beware of spoilers from the Water Seven arc.
I've lost everything and it's all my fault. I should've bid my time patiently instead of confronting you - perhaps then, I could forget about being second best.
I was too naive. I thought sex was a form of commitment. But although I was your first, her face still shone brighter in your mind. I tried to force you to choose between us, but you refused to give me a straight answer. An uneasy truce sprung up; you began to wish for home, for familiarity, for safety.
I said I would protect you, but you just looked away, ashamed.
I started blaming her for the deterioration of our relationship, hoping for a sign of favoritism from you. However, you connected my jealous moments as a lover to my inevitable decision as a captain: when I announced that the Going Merry had to go, you finally gave me your answer.
"My loyalty lies with her."
Now I stand here without my ship nor my sharpshooter, laughing bitterly over what a fool love had made of me.
"...Damn you Kaya, I've lost to the mere memory of you."
