Sixth Drabble: I should just die.
Sep. 8th, 2005 01:05 amTitle: Broken Promise
Rating: G
Word Count: 190
Pairing: Sanji x ?
Topic: Female Involvement
Warning: OOC!Nami
Notes: It's Nami here, no matter how much it doesn't sound like her. And the only reason I wrote this is because I realized that I haven't touched One Piece for more than a week(?) and I'm feeling guilty.
---
She watched from the corner, and realized that this was why she refused him all those years ago, even when she knew that he was the closest to true love she had ever felt.
Two figures, sitting next to each other, talking to each other with low voices and soft smiles.
Sometimes, the voice of his promise long ago, his voice saying 'I'll wait for you to change your mind', would appear in her mind once again. She would want to ask, want to demand why he changed his mind and moved on, and why all the lovely attention she once owned was transferred to someone else, this time no longer female.
He had told her, voice wavering, that he no longer wished to wait for women. He said women are too unpredictable, and he couldn't wait for them anymore.
She couldn't understand, because she had waited, she had wanted and waited and never recieved. They say she takes, but they never noticed what she gave.
And yet, when she sees them together, she would find that her question was once again erased, only to rise when she looks away.
