“I did it to be like you.” The normally energetic voice whispered huskily into Shank’s ear. The elder pirate shifted under the worn sheets to take a better look at the boy. “Did what?”
Luffy’s answer was to reach a smooth, agile hand across his lover’s chest to take his remaining wrist and pulled Shanks’ hand close to touch the scar beneath his dark eye, which was glowing with a sort of boyish expectancy.
“I wanted to be like you.” Shanks’ expression softened as he ran a gentle thumb over the all-too-familiar scar. Letting his hand drop to the sheets, he rolled onto Luffy and kissed the scar gently.
“You did a pretty good job of it.”
