Title: Daily Question #48
Rating: G
Word Count: 293
Pairing: Sanji x Luffy
Topic: Water
Warning: Shameless fluff.
Notes: I just noticed I like referring to the characters as their roles on the crew, especially 'captain'. I'm not sure what it means though. (Perhaps Robin has unknowingly influenced me?)
---
"Sanji!"
Hearing his captain's voice, the cook could do nothing but finish serving the girls and go listen to whatever Luffy wanted to say. If he doesn't...well, let's just say the young pirate captain can be quite insistent.
(Not that his insistence isn't a good thing.)
"Have you ever felt how it's like to sink in the ocean?"
Sanji sighed, just lightly - ever since he's gotten together (so wonderful, so perfectly) with Luffy, he had realized how much Luffy liked to ask strange questions. And only to him, Luffy only asked him and no one else.
"...Yes."
The cook sat down, wondering what his captain (his Luffy) has in mind.
"Don't you think it's beautiful?"
These are words Sanji has long since learnt only Luffy would say. Instead of talking, he moved closer towards the other, snuggling for warmth and hoping the boy wouldn't be insane enough to jump into the ocean because he think it's beautiful.
(Sanji has accepted the fact that what he says is what he truly believes and does no think of questioning.)
"Sometimes I try to fight it - you know, the water from taking my strength. Then I realize there's no chance of fighting it, so I give up. Then..."
(Sanji loves his voice anyway, and what he says always manages to make sense no matter what the content.)
"Water feels good when you slide down in it," Luffy concluded.
The cook tried to remember, but all he could recall was fear. Then he smiled - he could almost guess what Luffy's saying next.
"And I'm not afraid. You know why?"
Sanji chuckled, putting a hand on Luffy's head. His smiled is returned with ten times brightness.
"Because I know you'd be there to save me."
