Tears fill her eyes as she watches them embrace.

Though a little terror in her youth, she had sometimes turned the tables on her watchful guardians. Then, it was she who would do the watching.

As the years pasted, she would grow accustomed to seeing them together. Side by side they had protected the Kingdom of Alabasta. The Jackal and the Falcon had stood as one, protecting their people. The perfect partners. But there had been something more to it. So she had asked. They had only smiled and replied,"We are the earth and sky."

Now, watching this miracle reunion through watery eyes, she finally understood the meaning of those words. They are two parts of the same whole. You cannot have one without the other, it just isn't possible.

"Isn't it wonderful Vivi-sama? Alabasta is truly blessed this day!" Igaram beamed, tears streaming down his face and dripping from his chin.

"Yes," she replied, letting the tears fall in joyful abandon,"The earth has found the sky once again."

That's a beautiful image you've got there. It suits them very well. I would be more praising and coherent if it weren't 2am. Well done, regardless.

There just isn't enough Chaka and Pell stuff, I was really glad for the chance to try to write some for them. And Vivi seemed so right for this piece, I just had to write it from her perspective.

I agree with everything. The lack of Chaka and Pell is distressing. Maybe they seem more boring because they come off as the "old-married"s, but I think their characters could have a LOT of depth. And as discussed... somewhere... one of my recent drabbles, I think, with jadeprince, they were both young once, too =P

There are many writers I wish would fix this sad dearth, but I'm learning that one of the rules of the game is, if there isn't enough and you want more, write it yourself >=P. So I'm trying. Should be posting a chapter up onepieceyaoi way soon, maybe as early as late night tonight. Depends on how late I work.

As for the choice of Vivi - excellent. She cares so deeply about everyone, and Pell and Chaka are like family to her. It's a very fitting perspective. Well done.

You know what I liked most about this? The fact that SOMEONE remembered Igaram's name because for the life of me I couldn't remember it at all and it was causing me endless frustration. But YEAY thank you for reminding me and putting me at peace.

I thought Igaram was such a hoot in the show. Loved him to death! His showing up was mostly just a bonus to myself: I just had this image of the big softy with tears just streaming down his face and I had to add him in. Glad I could help your memory and thank you ^^
