Title: Water, Before and Now
Rating: G
Word Count: 200
Pairing: Sanji/Luffy, mild Ace/Luffy
Topic: Devil Fruit User/Non-Devil Fruit User
Warning: A poor attempt to search for the relationship between the ones that have the ability and the ones that don't.
Notes: Had this idea for a while, until I finally decided that having ideas in the mind aren't good for my health and should just type it down. Thus the result.
---
Ace told him, acting as if he wasn't paying much attention to his words, that he's seen Luffy playing in water when they were small.
Sanji knew he did it on purpose. There was no other way - how could something casually said effect him so much?
Then he tried to imagine it. Four-year-old Luffy, splashing the water around him and laughing like the energetic person he always seems to be. And not affected by the water - he hasn't eaten the Devil Fruit then, had he? Doesn't know how to swim still, but at least he's in the water, jumping around and all...
And then he wanted to kick/strangle/do severe damage to Ace, because he couldn't imagine it without ever seeing it before and Ace was the one who had seen it...
Until he saw Ace burning with flame and the water that couldn't get close to him because of the heat.
Ace has seen Luffy playing with water, but that was long ago and it doesn't matter, it doesn't matter because while Ace has seen that, Sanji is the one who could protect Luffy from the water.
