He watched his captain over a book, again he had insisted on returning to Party’s Bar, not only for the good food and drink but also to see Makino. Hell, Ben figured this was one of the best parts where he could spend time alone with the red-haired man.
“I think you’ve had enough for this evening…” came Makino’s soft voice, which even reached Ben’s ears over the loud noise though she was only speaking to Shanks. He took this as a hint to pick up the captain and take him back to the ship.

“Non-sense! Think of it this way Beckman, it’s not the alcohol giving me those killer hangovers and headaches, it’s you!”
