He had sworn he was never going to do it again. The risks grew greater every time; someone was bound to catch wind of their secret eventually. But with as much strength of will as Zoro possessed, he couldn’t banish the forbidden thoughts from his mind. Even solid naps and long draughts of rum couldn’t soothe him. It was an ever-present desire, one that consistent training and stubborn fury couldn’t burn away.
It wasn’t as though he didn’t want it either. Zoro could tell from every contented sigh and hushed giggle that he enjoyed receiving just as much as Zoro loved giving. Then again, he wore his emotions on his sleeve for the world to see; it was one of the things that made him so utterly adorable. And every time Zoro would resolve to quit cold turkey, he would look up at him with those big, bright eyes and that sunny grin, and Zoro’s resolution would scatter to the winds.
But if anyone on the crew were to suspect, everything would be…ruined. Zoro knew that even if his nakama were open-minded about the whole affair, he would probably never hear the end of it as long as he lived. He could vividly imagine that shitty-cook teasing him mercilessly …not to mention what Nami and Usopp would do if they were to ever find out. Even Robin would probably give him a few sidelong glances now and then.
So even as he ran calloused hands through dusky rangiferine locks, luxuriating in the soft, radiating warmth beneath his fingers, one part of him was always paranoid and alert. No one could ever discover that the great and macho Roronoa Zoro had a secret weakness for petting Tony Tony Chopper.
A/N: Yep...I'm broke from using some of them there expensive words. And if you don't know what they mean, that's what dictionary.com is for. ^_~
