Author's Note: I'm well aware that I'm going to burn for this. Guess what I stole I ripped off inspired me and you get a cookie. ^_^
She thought him a corpse when she first saw him; a dried husk of a man crumbling to dust in the cruel sun. That’s why the crunching noises surprised her. She was hesitant to flip him onto his back, but if he was still alive somehow it was her civic duty to help him. The crunching noises ceased the moment she heaved the blond onto his back. She immediately wished she hadn’t.
Her mother would have called him handsome. His eyebrows were elegant, thin and well kept, with distinguished gibbous loops. They were the perfect accompaniments to an impish face and lips that hung slack, as though they were missing an essential part of themselves and were waiting impatiently for its return.
Yes, he would have been the type of man she and her friends would secretly swoon over, if one thing didn’t mar his otherwise pleasing good-looks. And that one thing was staring at her with a rather annoyed expression.
Where his left eye should have been was another perfectly formed miniature face. Its hollowed, pig-like eyes squinted against the noonday light. The stubby nose sniffed indelicately at her as its slashed mouth went back to chewing loudly. She couldn’t even draw breath to scream properly before she fainted dead away.
The face within a face swallowed and sighed, licking bits of dirt away from the sides of its puckered jowls. “That was damned inconvenient,” it said to itself, its asthmatic voice barely audible. “Hope Sanji wakes up before she does, so we can get back to the business at hand.”
