Behold, crappiness and Water 7 spoilers.
Title: Consolation
Word Count: 300 on the dot.
Rating: R for nookie.
Pairings: Sanji/Zoro, Sanji/Usopp.
Topic: Mistakes.
I’m a fucking moron.
The noises the other side of the door signaled that Zoro walking in would be not only unwelcome, but awkward as all hell. The only person to forgive Usopp faster than Luffy had been Sanji, and the physical expression of that was currently going on behind that door.
He just kept scrubbing those tears off of his face and swearing brokenly between sobs. What was I supposed to do?
Sanji moaned a name that was very different from the one he’d been gasping out a few days ago. Zoro was transfixed, paralyzed, torn between storming in and leaving. He hated feeling like this. Divided. Directionless. Unfocused. Things the greatest swordsman in the world couldn’t afford to feel.
That fucker knows I can’t stand watching people cry. I see them and I hear her, hear her sobbing and saying that her body’s betraying her and she’ll never be the greatest, hear people crying at her funeral. And this wasn’t something I could tell somebody to suck up or get over, not something I could take a sword to and make better.
Between old scars and new, Zoro still bore the faint marks of Sanji’s desperately clutching hands on his back.
I don’t want to hear him screaming my name.
He heard laughter. Sanji’s.
I don’t want to taste his tears on my lips.
One thin door.
I don’t want to feel his hair between my fingers.
One twist of his wrist.
I don’t want to remember the way he felt under me, arching and sweating and begging me to fuck him until he couldn’t think anymore.
He forced himself to let go of the knob, to turn around and walk away.
We all made mistakes on Water 7. Some of us just got off lighter than others.

Amazing. If I owned a track of a studio audience clapping, I'd send it to you.

Date: 2006-02-14 02:54 am (UTC)I wonder why Sanji did that though. You portrayed Zoro's emotion so well. The reference to Kuina is a great touch.
Will you write more? *stares with puppy dog eyes*
