Connection Error
Feb. 12th, 2006 05:27 pmFor some reason, this idea wouldn't quit. So, here's the companion to SNAFU, SNAFU - Zoro Variation. As you can guess by the title, it's the other side of the version.
Title: SNAFU - Zoro Variation
Topic: Mistakes
Rating: PG-15 for implied sexual content
Pairing: ZoSan
Word Count: 297, exactly the same as the other one. Go figure.
Disclaimer: Even less than not mine.
This was a mistake.
Zoro kept his eyes shut, feigning sleep with his arm draped over Sanji’s chest. Though the post-coital cigarette was done long ago, the cook never left until after the swordsman’s post-coital nap. It was a little dishonest, but it was the only way Zoro could lay there and listen to Sanji’s heartbeat. The steady rhythm showed no signs that it was not just another casual night when blood ran too hot and urges had to be sated. Because that’s what it was supposed to be.
We said it wouldn’t mean anything.
The chef sighed beneath him, and Zoro wondered if this would be the time when Sanji finally broke away. The silence that would have been comforting if he had really been asleep was instead stifling. The blond used to talk after their “encounters”, rambling on sleepily in his smooth tenor tones until Zoro would glare at him and tell him to shut up so he could sleep. He talked about anything and everything in those days. Now he didn’t say anything, and the quiet was full of unvoiced regrets.
When the hell did it change?
He really should have known better. Getting comfortable with their arrangement was a bad idea. Wanting the closeness, the feel of desire under his hands and the taste of passion invading his mouth, was weakness, even if it only applied to a certain blond cook. It would distract him. It was already distracting him; he wanted Sanji to start prattling on again and break that damn silence.
I’m such an idiot.
And Sanji could never know about this growing dependency in his heart, because that would be the end of their arrangement, and Zoro still needed everything the cook was willing to give.
This was a mistake.
Everyone knows what "SNAFU" is, right?
